Samantha Legg, BCBA, LBA

My journey began when my younger brother was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome as a child. My parents were never educated in behavioral therapy, and never knew about the many services that he could receive. During my time in undergrad, I was exposed to the wonderful world of ABA, and while my heart was broken that these services were not made available to him, it was also filled with joy as I realized that this was where I belonged. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University at Alexandria followed by my Master’s in Psychology focused in Applied Behavior Analysis.

As a Behavior Analyst, I see many different children with their own unique strengths and qualities. Where they are weak, I will aim to strengthen them. I want to give your child the best chance they have at surviving this strange and complicated world we live in! My goal as a BCBA is also to show families who have children with autism that they are not alone, and that there is hope. I have seen so many parents feeling helpless and burned out as they struggle to make progress with their child. They just want someone to help them and hear them. I am here to be that person! I am here to listen, to love, and to lead you and your child toward their full potential.

Psalm 139:14 declares that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God has a purpose for each and every one of us. Embrace it and let his light shine through you and your children!

Sara Kate Warren, M.C.D., CCC-SLP

I was initially introduced to speech-language pathology at an early age by seeing my younger brother build confidence while improving his articulation skills through his speech therapy sessions. Entering college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in which I could work with people to help them enhance their strengths and to help them improve in areas in which they struggle. After job shadowing my cousin who is an SLP, I knew that this was the career for me! I received a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana Tech University in 2013, and I graduated from LSU Health with a Master of Communication Disorders in 2015. I have had the opportunity to work in this career field in the Shreveport – Bossier area for almost 7 years with the majority of these years spent working in a pediatric setting.

Knowing that each child learns in his or her own way, I strive to create unique treatment plans that work best for children and their families. I will work with you as parents, as well as other professionals (e.g. M.D., teachers, therapists), as a team member to meet goals for your child! I hope to get the opportunity to love on your child, celebrate your child’s victories, and help your child gain confidence to be the best he or she can be!

Mikailah Smith, RBT, RLT

BCBA in training

My adventure into the ABA field has been filled with excitement! Upon graduating from Northwestern State with my Bachelor’s in Psychology, I was lucky enough for my first job to be a Registered Behavior Technician. I had no idea what to expect initially, but now, it has my entire heart—- so much so, that now, my goal is to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have always enjoyed working with children and I am beyond excited to further my career as I continue to learn and grown within the field. My prayer is that every individual I come in contact with leaves knowing that they are exceptional and more than capable of reaching their goals.

Jennie Bange, MOT, LOTR

I graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies and a minor in psychology. After deciding to continue my education, I graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2007 from LSUHSC School of Allied Health Professionals in Shreveport (SAHP). For the past sixteen years, I have had the privilege of practicing as a pediatric occupational therapist in various settings and with a wide range of diagnoses. I have also been an instructor for the Department of Occupational Therapy at the LSUHSC-SAHP and for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC).

I have always supported services in the natural environment, as I understand the importance of integrating the family into each child’s session. I firmly believe that the therapist is not the person making the difference in the child’s life. It is the child’s family that makes the difference. Sixteen years ago, God blessed me with a sweet baby girl. Over the course of a few months, she was diagnosed with a rare connective tissue disorder. I feel she has strengthened my abilities as an occupational therapist. I sincerely understand the emotions a family goes through when their child is diagnosed with a disability or is experiencing a developmental delay. I understand how frightening this can be, and I understand the joy that can come from it all.

Cooper, Therapy Dog (in training)

I am a sweet boy that wants to play and love on the children when their feelings are too much for them.
